SPAM is a common term used to describe unsolicited commercial emails. These are commercial emails sent to large groups of addresses that have been purchased or accumulated by searching the Internet. SPAM may include legitimate products and services, scams, viruses and links to objectionable Web sites.

Undesired email can degrade performance for all users by clogging the network and quickly filling your mailbox. The Sprint Broadband Direct Acceptable Use Policy, as well as the policies of many other Internet Service Providers, prohibits customers from originating SPAM.

The following actions can be used to reduce the quantity of undesirable emails that you receive:

  • Download a free anti-SPAM service for your Earthlink-based email accounts at www.earthlink.net/epa/. This site contains other useful information for preventing, managing, and reporting SPAM.

Note: Other companies that offer email accounts also have anti-SPAM tools and services.

  • Avoid publishing your email address to unknown individuals and sources, especially as a link on a Web site.

  • Select "no" when asked if you allow your email address to be provided to other companies, organizations or individuals.

If you receive SPAM you should verify that you are using the tools and services to control SPAM that are available from your email service provider. Next, forward the entire suspect email, including all header information, to abuse@sprintbroadband.com.
