Federal statutory law and the laws of many states specifically address computer intrusion, fraud, the interception of data communications and the transmission of malicious code. The law specifies punishments, including prison terms and fines, for such violations.

Internet-related crime should be reported to Sprint and appropriate law enforcement authorities at the local, state or federal levels. The Department of Justice and FBI have teams organized to fight and prosecute computer crime.
